I started to come up with this blog because I want to make a record of the places I have visited and I also want to share it with other people because there are indeed a lot of beautiful places here in the Philippines as well as the other corner of the world.

Join me as I continue explore and discover more places through this blog.

A day in breathtaking Dinadiawan, Aurora

A beautiful overlooking view of the sea

The province of Aurora is one of the most visited places in the Philippines by a lot of people, most especially tourists. It is well known for Baler which is the surfing capital of the country. But little did I know that this province has still a lot to offer besides Baler, one of those is Dinadiawan. Dinadiawan Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Aurora, with a fabulous view of the Pacific Ocean, the lush and diverse forests of the Sierra Madre Mountain Range, and the rock formation along the shoreline. And what makes it more special is that Dinadiawan Beach is resort-free.

This is my first time going in Dinadiawan. I’ve gone several times to Baler and tried surfing there. And people from Aurora would always recommend us to visit other towns in Aurora most especially the Dipaculao and the Dinadiawan. I find it more difficult to reach Dinadiawan because it is somewhere in the end part of the province unlike Baler which is only few hours from our home. I became really dizzy on our way to Dinadiawan because the road was zigzag and then we went up and down. But I remember the saying “Difficult roads often lead to beautiful destination”. Dinadiawan proved that right to me when I finally saw an overlooking view of the sea on our car window. I was really stunned by its beauty.

The place is really perfect for relaxing and soul searching because the place is really quiet, there are no traces of tourists. If you really want an escape from everything, I would really recommend this place. It is indeed a paradise. There are also activities that you can do in Dinadiawan, like kayaking, surfing, snorkeling, trekking to see the waterfalls and setting up a bonfire at night. I did all of these on my stay in Dinadiawan, it was a really enjoying and unforgettable experience. I spent two days and one night there, it’s short but I believed that I made the most out of my two days stay there.

The queen city of the South: Cebu

Magellan’s Cross holds a very big part of the history of Cebu. It is believed to be a Christian cross planted by the Portuguese and Spanish explorers headed by Ferdinand Magellan. It was planted upon their arrival in Cebu on March 15, 1521.

Cebu is one of the most popular tourist spot in the Philippines, I don’t doubt this anymore because it was really mesmerizing. In my 5-days stay in Cebu, I did nothing but be amazed by its beauty.

The first thing I did in Cebu was to drop by the Cathedral and see the Magellan’s Cross. Their cathedral was big and it seems like they really work hard to preserve it. As I roamed around, I realized that their Cathedral was built ages of years ago but it is still beautiful. Outside the cathedral was the famous Magellan’s cross. A lot of tourists was there too, taking a picture of it.

In my first day, I went to what they call “Little Amsterdam” in Sirao. The place was really colorful because there it’s like a huge garden with a lot of flowers and plants planted everywhere.

Sirao “Little Amsterdam is a manmade flower garden made by the Cebuanos in Sirao.

I also went to Moalboal Cebu and stayed there for two days. I enjoyed the breathtaking view of the whitesand beach there. I really loved watching the sunset from there. I also did some water activity despite of having a little bad weather. I stayed in Moalboal with some of the relatives from Cebu. They accompany me, they show me some of Moalboal’s best places and they even taught me some commonly used Bisaya words and phrases.

Moalboal Cebu’s whitesand beach is by far one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. What makes it special is that there are only a few tourists who visit there.

On my fourth day in Cebu, I went on some challenging water activity called canyoneering. I chose the full track in which the end will be the Kawasan falls. I was unable to film some of my 2-hour treking, jumping, swimming and climbing journey. It was really tiring but I enjoyed it.

Badian canyoneering or canyoning is an extreme but fun activity that is done in Kawasan Falls. Kawasan falls canyoneering is a sought after adventure in Badian, Cebu. The falls is crystal blue and mystical…anyone would want to plunge into. Moreover, exploring the canyons in the area is what many would want to venture.

I also went to Oslob on my last day in Cebu to experience whale shark watching. It was a one of a kind experience because at first I was so afraid to get into the water. The whale sharks were so giant and I thought they might swallow me.

The whale shark watching activity in Oslob is a must and you should never miss to do when are in Cebu. After the whale shark experience, our package includes climbing up to the amazing Tumalog water falls which just 10 minute drive from the whale shark area in Oslob.

On my last night at Cebu, I had a dinner at Lantaw floating restaurant. The place was nice because it has an overlooking view of the city. A hundred meters away from the floating restaurant was Cordova’s 10000 lighting roses and it was so beautiful. I really love flowers. Though these 10000 roses were artificially made, I really appreciate it because they were really nice.

The lovely and haunting 10,000 roses cafe should definitely make it to your Cebu itinerary. This cafe is pretty near the famous Lantaw restaurant in Cordova. It has become a tourist hot spot because of the pretty white LED roses that flank the walkway leading up to the cafe.

I am really considering going back to Cebu and discover a lot of things I haven’t seen in my visit. The place was really incredible, Cebuanos are really nice and kind. The food were exceptional most especially the Lechon which is what Cebu is most known for. I will never forget this travel experience. I really hope that one day, I’ll be able to visit again the queen city of the south.
